Iga Swiatek is set to start her season at the United Cup for the second consecutive year. This week, nations announced their lineups for the second edition of the United Cup, which will be taking place between December 29 - January 07.

When the participants were announced, it was revealed that four-time Grand Slam champion Swiatek would represent Poland. Earlier this year, 22-year-old Swiatek represented Poland at the inaugural United Cup. Poland, which was led by Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz, made the United Cup semifinal before losing to the United States.

At this year's United Cup, Swiatek went 3-1 in singles and also had a 2-0 record with Hurkacz in mixed doubles.

With Swiatek and recent Shanghai Masters champion Hurkacz signed up, Poland will undoubtedly be among the top favorites for the 2024 United Cup title.

However, there will also be other strong teams. "The United Cup holds a unique position in global tennis, with the world's best men and women representing their country at the highest level. For 2024 we are delighted to welcome teams with both massive star power and great depth.

The top 16 teams include some of the biggest names in tennis, such as Djokovic, Swiatek, Tsitsipas, Pegula, Fritz, Sakkari, De Minaur, Tomljanovic, Zverev, Kerber and more. They are all set to play in a format designed to showcase both the men's and women's game and the unique equality in tennis.

We can't wait to see some exciting match-ups between such a high calibre playing field, and lots of entertaining tennis in what promises to be a blockbuster event," United Cup tournament director Stephen Farrow said. At the inaugural United Cup, Swiatek suffered one loss but it came at the worst possible time - the Pole was beaten by Jessica Pegula in the semifinal. It remains to be seen if Swiatek can lead Poland to a United Cup victory at the start of the 2024 season.
