World No 1 Iga Swiatek is set to play again at the World Tennis League as the Pole has signed up to compete for the Toyam Sports Limited (TSL) Hawks. The TSL Hawks will be a new team at the World Tennis League and they will be represented by some of the biggest stars in today's tennis.

At the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, Swiatek, Caroline Garcia, Casper Ruud and Hubert Hurkacz will attempt to lead the TSL Hawks to the title. The TSL Hawks are owned by Pacific Star Sports, a United Arab Emirates company. Mohamedali Budhwani, the CMD of Toyam Sports Limited, was thrilled to announce Swiatek and other big names.

“Becoming an integral part of the Meteora World Tennis League as a proud team owner is a moment of immense joy for us. TSL has accomplished this remarkable feat through its UAE-based subsidiary company PSS. We take great pride in being the owners of the Hawks team in WTL, featuring standout players such as Rudd, Hurkacz, Swiatek and Garcia.

With these top-tier tennis players on our side, we are confident in delivering thrilling matches and are determined to secure this year’s title” Budhwani said in a statement, via Gulf News.

Swiatek set to play at the World Tennis League in back-to-back years

Last year, the inaugural World Tennis League was held in Dubai.

In 2022, Swiatek represented The Kites. Swiatek's Kites fell just short of winning the inaugural World Tennis League after losing to the Hawks in the final. This year, the World Tennis League will be taking place between December 21-24.

The TSL Hawks have the top-ranked player in women's tennis in their team and they also have some other well-known names in Garcia, Ruud and Hurkacz. With four-time Grand Slam champion Swiatek on board, the TSL Hawks will undoubtedly be one of the favorites for the title.
