World No 4 Elena Rybakina is leading a star-studded Adelaide International player field as the Kazakh will be joined by four other top-10 players at the Australian WTA 500 tournament. This week, the Adelaide International announced that five top-10 players signed up to play in their tournament as Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, Marketa Vondrousova, Karolina Muchova and Barbora Krejcikova are all expected to play at The Drive Adelaide.

There will also be eight players ranked between 10-20 and one of those names is 2022 WTA Finals champion Caroline Garcia. Elina Svitolina, who made the Wimbledon semifinal three months after her post-pregnancy comeback, is also scheduled to play at the Adelaide International, which takes place between January 08-13.

Rybakina, who made the Australian Open final earlier this year, is set to play in at least three tournaments in Australia this coming January.

Rybakina, 24, will start her season at the Brisbane International. After Brisbane, Rybakina will return to the Adelaide International for a third consecutive year. In her Adelaide debut in 2022, Rybakina made the final before losing to home favorite Ashleigh Barty.

This year, Rybakina returned to Adelaide and played in Adelaide 1 and Adelaide 2. After losing in the round-of-16 in the Adelaide 1, Rybakina also lost early in the Adelaide 2 event as she was beaten in the first round. When Rybakina returns to Adelaide in January, she will be looking to do better this time in Adelaide.

Considering that Adelaide will be taking place the week before the Australian Open, Rybakina will undoubtedly be looking to make a positive run and go to Melbourne Park full of confidence. However, the Adelaide International is set to feature a really star-studded field and it won't be easy for Rybakina or anyone else to win the title. It remains to be seen if Rybakina can win her first Adelaide title in January.
