Doubles world No. 7 Ellen Perez hilariously reacted to Iga Swiatek handing out a double-bagel to Anastasia Potapova at the French Open as Perez says she stopped playing singles because she "refuses to be a victim."

On Sunday, four-time Grand Slam champion Swiatek crushed Potapova 6-0 6-0 in just 40 minutes for her fourth double-bagel win. Interestingly, Swiatek's previous three double-bagel wins also came against players whose last name starts with a P - the Pole beat Karolina Pliskova in 2021, defeated Andreea Prisacariu in 2022, and also had a double-bagel win over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova last year.

Responding to an interesting Swiatek stat, Perez wrote: "See this is why I stopped playing singles. I refuse to be a victim."

Perez, who has six WTA doubles titles, is also a two-time Grand Slam doubles semifinalist and her current ranking of No. 7 is also her career-high ranking. For the past several years, Perez's main focus has been on doubles and this year she hasn't made any appearances in singles.

At this year's French Open, Perez is competing in the women's doubles competition with Nicole Melichar-Martinez and she is also teaming up with Matt Ebden for the mixed doubles event.

After completing the quickest win of her career, 23-year-old Swiatek said: "I was just really focused and really in the zone, wasn't really looking at the score so I just continued playing my game, working on stuff I wanted to work on. It went pretty quickly...pretty weird."

Last year when addressing the "Swiatek bakery" memes, Swiatek claimed she never thinks of giving her opponent a bagel but it just happens.

"I don't really think about that [finishing sets 6-0]. It's more I feel the media is doing all that fuss about these results," Swiatek said last year.

"It's not easy to play these sets anyway, so I'm just trying to keep my focus on what the score is. With all my due respect to my opponents, I don't feel like I should really talk about that kind of stuff, so I'll leave it to Twitter or the media."
