Former world No. 2 Barbora Krejcikova says she has major respect for Elena Rybakina but is also warning the fourth-seeded Kazakh that she has "some big weapons" in her game as well.

Today, fans at Wimbledon will have a chance to see two Grand Slam champions go up against each other when 2021 French Open champion Krejcikova takes on 2022 Wimbledon winner Rybakina.

In the past, Krejcikova didn't really have much success on the grass and this is the first year that she has made it past the round-of-16 at Wimbledon. But this year, the 28-year-old Czech is doing much better and she has reached the Wimbledon semifinal after upsetting Danielle Collins and Jelena Ostapenko in the last two matches.

On the other side, Rybakina has been a menace at Wimbledon as she currently holds an impressive 19-2 record at The Championships.

Krejcikova: Rybakina is a great player, but...

"We played a couple of times. I mean, she’s a great player; she’s a former champion here. She knows the courts; she knows how to play on grass; she’s very dangerous; she has a lot of weapons. I mean, overall, she’s a good player. As I said, she has big weapons but on the other hand I do have big weapons as well. I expect that it’s gonna be a big fight," Krejcikova said of facing Rybakina.

In the past, Krejcikova beat Rybakina at a WTA event in Melbourne at the start of the 2021 season and also defeated the Kazakh in Ostrava in late 2022.

"I don’t remember those matches. I don’t know, I will have to look at them. I know the last time I played (against her) was in Ostrava. It was a very tight match; it was very up and down. From what I remember, I was down most of the time. Then somehow, I was able to turn around the match. It was definitely a huge match for me and I’m expecting another huge match in the semifinals," Krejcikova said.

It remains to be seen if Krejcikova can upset Rybakina today and continue her great Wimbledon run.
