Simona Halep has breezed her way through to her first Grand Slam final. The Romanian has not dropped a set, and she is the first woman since Martina Hingis in 1997, to reach a debut final at a Grand Slam, without dropping a set.
Sharapova leads the head to head record. She has yet to lose to Halep. Although the final in Madrid will lead many to believe, Halep could walk away with her first Grand Slam Title. Halep did show in Madrid, she can come out and dominate the Russian.
Sharapova really had to fight to claim her victory in Madrid in three tough sets. Halep has served well throughout the championships, whereas Sharapova has struggled at times with many double faults to her name. One factor which has to be easy to witness is that Sharapova has fought with all of her heart to reach the final, coming back from near defeats against, Stosur, Muguruza and Bouchard.
