Tennis - If you're thinking that Serena Williams or Venus Williams have hit the fastest serve on the women's tennis tour this year, you would be wrong. Sabine Lisicki or Madison Keys, perhaps? Wrong again. How about 21-year-old Nadiia Kichenok? Not heard of her before but the Ukrainian is the player who tops the fastest serve leader board in 2014.
Kichenok is currently ranked at World No.110 and has been playing a mix of ITF and WTA qualifying events mostly this year. Kichenok hit her 125.5 MPH serve at the Australian Open in January where she lost in the first round to Ayumi Morita.
World no. 1 Serena has the fifth fastest serve this year while sister Venus, who owns the all-time record, has the eighth fastest serve. RANK NAME MPH KPH TOURNAMENT
