Tennis - The Williams sisters have been a dominant force in doubles over the past decade. And soon, we could be seeing the next sister act on the big stage in the women's game. The Czech Republic's Pliskova twins, Karolina and Kristyna, won their second WTA doubles title on Sunday at the NÜRNBERGER Gastein Ladies Open.
The Pliskovas, who also won junior grand slam titles in singles each, defeated Andreja Klepac and María-Teresa Torró-Flor 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 in the final on Sunday. They created history last year when they became the first, and so far only, twins to win a WTA doubles title.
(Click here to read about the famous twins in tennis). Meanwhile, the local pairing of Elena Bogdan and Alexandra Cadantu won the Bucharest Open, beating Cagla Buyukakcay and Karin Knapp 6-4, 3-6, 10-5 in the final. It was the first WTA title for either player.
