Sabine Lisicki breaks the record for the fastest ever serve in Women´s Tennis

Tennis: Former World No.12 and the 2013 Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki has broken the record for the fastest ever in the history of the Women's Tennis by serving at 131 mph in Stanford. Lisicki was playing against the former world No.1 and 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic when she achieved the feat.

Even though Lisicki lost the match in straight sets 7-6, 6-1, but she got her name written in the history books. The record for the fastest serve in women's Tennis was previously held by 5-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams, who had served at 129 mph in the 2007 US Open.

Stanford always brings out the best from Lisicki, as she had served her previous personal best at 125 mph in the 2011 Stanford Championships. Lisicki's friend, fellow German and Fed Cup team-mate Andrea Petkovic (former world No.10) was also amazed at Lisicki's feat as she wrote to Lisicki on Twitter, ''@sabinelisicki 131 miles per hour! THIS IS NOT YOU SERIOUSLY! HOW!''.
