Tennis: Former World No.5 and the second seed Daniela Hantuchova was beaten by the 20-year-old Belgian Alison van Uytvanck in the second round of the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open. Hantuchova won the first set 6-3 but in the second set she failed to convert any of the 6 break points she had.
The World No.91, Alison van Uytvanck converted both of the break points she had in the second set and won it 6-2 to force the match into a deciding set. In the final set, Uytvanck broke the Slovakian early and served for the match at 5-3.
Hantuchova broke her opponent but she was broken again in the next game as the match was finished in 2 hours and 20 minutes. Third seed Karolina Pliskova brushed aside Monica Puig in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. Seventh seed Jana Cepelova needed only 1 hour and 5 minutes to get past the Chinese qualifier Lin Zhu in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.
