Tennis - Former teen prodigy Nicole Vaidisova's comeback continues this week at the ITF $50K RedRock Pro Open in Las Vegas and meets American Alexa Glatch in the first round. Vaidisova, who broke into the top 10 at the age of 17 before giving it all up at the age of 21, returned from a four-and-a-half-year hiatus and won a round at the ITF $75K event last week before losing in the second round.
The top seed in the event is Vaidisova's compatriot Tereza Smitkova, followed by Hunagrian Timea Babos. Others in the draw include defending champion Melanie Oudin, seeded sixth, last week's ITF champion Anna Tatishvili, seeded third, and Portugese Michelle Larcher de Brito, seeded eighth.
In early matches, Larcher de Brito scored a striaght sets win over Britain's Tara Moore while Paula Kania defeated Urszula Radwanska in an all-Polish affair. Caitlin WHORISKEY (USA) 6-3 6-0 Louisa CHIRICO (USA)
