Top seed Dominika Cibulkova stunned by World No.140 in Moscow

Tennis: Bad form continued for this year's Australian Open runner-up Dominika Cibulkova as she bowed out in the second round of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow. She was beaten in 3 sets by the Russian qualifier Vitalia Diatchenko 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Cibulkova has a losing streak of 4 matches now. She has lost in the first rounds of the last three tournaments and has a win-loss record of 7-13 since the start of May. The Slovakian won the first set 6-4 but could hold only one service game in following two sets.

Cibulkova served 5 double faults in the third set. Alison Riske, who had won her first title in Tianjin last week, went down in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 against the sixth seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. The Czech qualifier Katerina Siniakova brushed aside Kristina Mladenovic in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 whereas Tsvetana Pironkova eased past Aleksandra Krunic in straight sets 6-2 6-3.
