Tennis: The 20-year-old German, Annika Beck has finally won her first WTA title after beating the fourth seed Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 in the final of BGL BNP Paribas Open WTA Tournament in Luxembourg.

Beck had gone down to the former world No.1 Caroline Wozniacki in the Luxembourg final last year, which was her first WTA final. This year she returned again and reached her second WTA final. This year's Wimbledon Quarterfinalist Barbora Zahlavova Strycova was looking to win her first WTA title since 2011 in Quebec City, her maiden WTA crown.

She had a 1-3 record in WTA finals before this match. Beck broke the Czech in first game and the third game to race to a 3-0 lead. There were 5 breaks of serve in a row, as Beck led 5-2 in the first set. She held the next game and won the first set 6-2.

Zahlavova Strycova was unable to hold her serve in the first set, even though she had 4 game points on her serve. Also Read: Barbora Zahlavova Strycova races into the semifinals in Luxembourg Also Read: Barbora Zahlavova Strycova and Annika Beck to meet in Luxembourg final
