Tennis: American youngsters Madison Brengle, Alison Riske, Great Britain's Heather Watson and Japan's Kurumi Nara have reached the semifinals of the Hobart International WTA Tournament. Alison Riske faced the second seed and 11 ranks higher Zarina Diyas in the Quarterfinals.
The American outclassed her Kazakh opponent and defeated her 6-3, 6-0 in just one hour. Riske will face Heather Watson next, who stunned the ninth seed Roberta Vinci in straight sets 7-6, 6-2. 22-year-old Watson is only one win away from reaching her first WTA final since 2012.
Kurumi Nara knocked out the third seed Camila Giorgi in 3 sets 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 and will face the American qualifier Madison Brengle, who edged another Italian Karin Knapp in 3 sets 6-7, 6-4, 6-4.
