Sixth seed Agnieszka Radwanska defeated 30th seed Varvara Lepchenko 6-0, 7-5 in 83 minutes to move into the last-16. Carrying forward her exceptionally good form from the third round, Agnieszka Radwanska was ruthless against Varvara Lepchenko.
The American had been run ragged by the time the first set was done, completely out-thought by the Pole. The American responded better in the second set, even breaking the Pole’s serve while she was serving for the match.
However, despite her valiant comeback attempts, the Pole never looked out of control in the match and took the win in straight sets. Radwanska played a controlled game, hitting five aces with no double faults. She had 23 winners and 10 unforced errors with a winning percentage on her first serves of 83%.
The American meanwhile had one ace, three double faults, and won 58% of her first serve points. She hit 20 winners and had an unforced errors' count of 37 which was nearly four times her opponent's tally.
