Tennis: Former World No.2 and 2-time Grand Slam finalist Vera Zvonareva has easily reached the second round of the Pattaya Open in Thailand, as she brushed aside China's Qiang Wang in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. 30-year-old Zvonareva, who is ranked 189 in the world right now, had reached the final of Wimbledon in 2010 and the US Open in the same year. She is looking to rise to top again, as she had led 5-3 in first set against Serena Williams at the recently concluded Australian Open. Against Wang in the first round here, she needed only one hour to register the victory.
The 2-time former champion will face the winner of No.8 seed Zhang Shuai and Donna Vekic next.
