Tennis: Third seed Andrea Petkovic and fifth seed Carla Suarez Navarro are through to the semifinals in Antwerp but the fourth seed Lucie Safarova was stunned by the eighth seed Karolina Pliskova in the Quarterfinals.
The first Quarterfinals was a battle between two Czechs, as Karolina Pliskova faced Lucie Safarova. The latter had beaten the former in their only previous meeting but it was a revenge time as Pliskova won in straight sets 7-6, 6-3. She will meet Carla Suarez Navarro for a place in the final, who knocked out the 2010 French Open champion Francesca Schiavone.
The Italian led 3-0 at one stage, but then the Spaniard won 12 of the next 14 games to win it 6-3, 6-2. Andrea Petkovic got her fourth straight victory over Dominika Cibulkova as she won 7-6, 6-0. The first set was a marathon and lasted for 72 minutes but the second set was one sided and lasted for only 27 minutes.
