Tennis: Third seed Andrea Petkovic and fifth seed Carla Suarez Navarro are through to the final of the BNP Paribas Fortis Diamond Games WTA Tournament in Antwerp by earning straight set victories in semifinals. Few days back Petkovic was almost knocked out of the second round of the tournament but she got a miraculous victory after saving eight match points against the home girl Alison Van Uytvank.
But she had a better record againt her Czech opponent in the semifinals, as Petkovic had won last two meetings against her. Both players were very had at their own serve in the first set and both got broken four times. The set was forced into a tie-break which Petkovic won 7-2. The second set was also forced into a tie-break, and this time it was closer as Petkovic saved a set point at 6-5 and won the tie-break 8-6 to go through to the final. Her opponent will be Suarez Navarro, who easily won in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 against the eighth seed Karolina Pliskova.
