Tennis: All the seeded players, fourth seed Jarmila Gajdosova, sixth seed Kurumi Nara and eighth seed Julia Goerges are through to the Quarterfinals of the Malaysian Open WTA Tournament in Kuala Lumpur. Gadjosova is the second highest ranked player left in the draw after the second seed Sabine Lisicki and Casey Dellacqua were knocked out, so she definitely had extra pressure on her, keeping in mind the upsets.
Gajdosova faced Thailand's Luksika Kumkhum, who she had beaten in straight sets in Hong Kong last year. Once again it was the same result with a similar scoreline as Gajdosova won 7-5, 6-2 in 1 hour and 35 minutes. She will face the sixth seed Kurumi Nara next, who edged Magda Linette in a thriller 7-5, 5-7, 7-6(6) in a match that lasted for more than 3 hours.
Eighth seed Julia Goerges, also booked her spot in the Quarterfinals with a 6-1, 6-2 winner against Kateryna Kozlova. Goerges will face Alexandra Dulgheru, who eased past Duan Ying-Ying in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
