Caroline Wozniacki storms into the Quarterfinals of Kuala Lumpur

Tennis: The former world No.1 and top seed Caroline Wozniacki is easily through to the Quarterfinals of the BMW Malaysian Open WTA Tournament in Kuala Lumpur with a straight sets win over Lin Zhu 6-4, 6-1. It was the first meeting between the 24-year-old Dane and the 21-year-old Chinese player.

World No.5 Wozniacki was playing Zhu, who is 117 ranks below her in the ranking so she had the clear edge and was the favourite. The first set went on serve until the 10th game when Zhu served to stay in the set at 4-5. Wozniacki broke her there and took the first 6-4 and did not face a break point in the whole set.

In the second set Wozniacki completely outplayed Zhu and raced to a 5-0 lead. She had 3 break points there to give a bagel to Zhu but the Chinese saved all of them and managed to hold her serve. Wozniacki held her serve in the next game to complete the win in 1 hour and 15 minutes. She will face Germany's Carina Witthoeft, who stunned the fifth seed Klara Koukalova in straight sets.

The first set was close as it was decided by a tie-break but in the second set Witthoeft gave Koukalova a bagel, 6-0. Wildcard Su-Wei Hsieh also reached the Quarterfinals with after a 3-set 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 win over Misa Eguchi of Japan.
