WTA QUEBEC CITY: Triumph for Annika Beck, who dominated Jelena Ostapenko!

WTA QUEBEC CITY - FINAL (5) A. Beck (GER) d. J. Ostapenko (LAT) 6-2 6-2 It was a sedate final at the WTA International tournament in Quebec City ($226,750, cement), between 21-year old German Annika Beck and 18-year old Latvian Jelena Ostapenko. Beck prevailed in two easy sets against Ostapenko, with the final score of 6-2 6-2 in 55 minutes.

There was only one moment of difficulty in the first set for the German, who lost her service in the first game, but she did get the break in the following game. It was a great tournament for Beck, who overcame opponents like Lucie Hradecka and Mirjana Lucic-Baroni in the earlier rounds.

It was the second WTA title of Beck's career, in four finals she's played. She won her first title last October, in Luxembourg. With this victory, Beck will recover 14 places in the WTA rankings, rising to the 43rd position.

Jelena Ostapenko will earn 24 positions, reaching number 77 in the world. ALSO READ WTA QUEBEC AND TOKYO: In Japan, Fourth Title for Yanina Wickmayer; Final between Jelena Ostapenko and Annika Beck in Canada!
