Tennis - Jelena Ostapenko made quite a name for herself during her match against British woman Naomi Broady earlier this week, earning a reputation for being the WTA's new bad girl. Here are 10 facts to know about Ostapenko, who has quite a game besides her temperament.

1 - 18-year-old Jelena Ostapenko is from Latvia and ranked No. 84 in the world after turning pro in 2012, the second youngest player in the Top 100. She was ranked as high as No. 2 in the ITF junior rankings. 2 - Ostapenko won the girls singles event at Wimbledon 2014 Wimbledon Championships, beating Slovak Kristina Schmiedlova in three sets.

Ostapenko commented on her win, "It was one of the best moment winning such an important trophy . I loved the grass courts and playing on Court No1 is unforgettable, people coming and wishing me all felt very nice. I will now improve in couple of years and will try and win the ladies trophy at Wimbledon someday". 3 - Ostapenko has won 7 ITF singles titles and 8 ITF doubles titles in her career so far.

She reached her first WTA final last year at the Quebec City event, where she was beaten by Annika Beck in three sets. 4 - Her tennis idols include World No. 1 Serena Wiliams and countryman Ernests Gulbis. 5 - Ostapenko rejected several college offers from the United States in order to play pro tennis.

Speaking to Tennis.com, the Latvian says, "I had so many offers but I don’t really want it. I want to play professionally. When I finish, maybe I’ll go [to college]. But I think I still have a chance to play professionally.

If I go to college I miss like four years, and then it’s going to be difficult to come back.”
