Eugenie Bouchard will not play Rio de Janeiro, tournament on clay which takes place in one week. 'I decided to withdraw from Rio Open in order to have more time to practice and to keep preparing for the rest of the season' - said via a statement Bouchard, who withdrew also for the Fed Cup tie against Bielorussia this week.
The reason is given by the fact that the Canadian wants to practice more as she hasn't trained much during the off-season. As a matter of fact, she fell in a locker room at the US Open and suffered a head concussion. She returned in Beijing but retired against Petkovic and then came back this year in Hobart.
In the Australian Open she was beaten easily by Agnieszka Radwanska, who reached the semifinals. Bouchard should come back on the Tour in Kuala Lumpur, hard, from 29th February. ALSO READ: A Tale Of Tasting Success Too Early: Eugenie Bouchard
