Tennis - Alona Bondarenko, the former World No. 19 in singles and No. 11 in doubles, is currently training to make her comeback on the WTA Tour, more than four years after playing her last WTA event. Bondarenko won 2 WTA Tour singles titles during her career as well as 4 doubles titles, including the 2008 Australian Open Doubles Championships with sister Kateryna, who also recently returned to the tour.
Kateryna is 30 years old and returned to tennis after giving birth to her first child a couple of years ago. In a video message posted on YouTube, Bondarenko talks about how she has been training at Matchpoint in New York Academy for the past few months and has been working on her comeback for the past two months.
With both sisters back, it would be interesting to see if they team up for doubles at the Rio Gamaes later this month. Also Read: Kateryna Bondarenko Reaches Quarter Finals in Japan Open
