WTA Paris - Americans Mattek-Sands, McHale move into the second round

Americans Bethanie Mattek Sands and Christina McHale won their first round matches at the Open GDF Suez in Paris on Wednesday. Mattek Sands hit 10 aces in her 7-6, 6-2 win over German qualifier Kristin Barrois while teenager McHale beat compatriot Varvara Lepchenko 6-4, 7-5.
