Sabine Lisicki will return to the WTA tour at the Mallorca open next month. This will mark the beginning of her preparations for the grass court season and she will be aiming to do well at wimbledon, her favourite hunting ground.
The 2013 Wimbledon finalist, who lost to the then champion, Marion Bartoli, was forced to retire from her quarterfinal against Jacqueline Cako in the Hawai open in Honolulu last November. She suffered from a shoulder injury.
She also had to skip the first half of 2017, but she took to twitter today to announce her return with the grass court season being her top priority, Lisicki will join the list of top players returning before Wimbledon with the likes of Petra Kvitova and Victoria Azarenka.
Wimbledon has been her favourite hunting ground as she has managed to reach quarter finals or better on five different occasions at the SW19. Also Read: Nalbandian: 'I don't miss tennis at all. Federer is phenomenal'
