WTA Washington - 19 year old Sloane Stephens advances to second round

19 year old American Sloane Stephens was among the first round winners at the WTA Citi Open in Washington DC. Stephens beat former top 40 player Sesil Karatantcheva in three sets to advance to the second round. Another popular American Melanie Oudin was beaten in a three set thriller by former top 20 player Aravane Rezai, of France.

20 year old Coco Vandeweghe, finalist at Stanford recently, was a straight sets winners over Erika Sema, of Japan. American Irina Falconi also advance to the second round CITI OPEN
