Tough setback for Angelique Kerber. The German player has withdrawn from the Mutua Madrid Open that starts on Saturday. The former world No. 1 is still dealing with a right thigh injury. Her compatriot Laura Siegemund won't be able to play due to a calf injury.
Earlier this week Kerber had said that she would do everything to come back as soon as possible. He is coming from her second-round loss to Anett Kontaveit at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, in the match, she had retired when was down 6-0 2-0.
