Japanese Misaki Doi became the fourth Japanese player into the quarter finals of the OEC Taipei WTA Ladies Open 125 event with a win over Hsu Wen-Hsin in the second round on Thursday. The no. 7 seeded Doi won 62 63 defeat of Hsu.
"Today I played really well, especially my service game," Doi commented. "I was able to hit the ball right where I was aiming." Doi's scheduled semi final opponent, Japanese Ayumi Morita, withdrew from the event due to a right knee injury.
17 year old Zarina Diyas beat Varatchaya Wongteanchai, 61 60; second seeded OLga Govortsova beat Irina Khromacheva, 64 62; Chang Kai-Chen scored a 76(5) 63 victory over French player Caroline Garcia.
