Serena Williams’ husband reacts to goddess French Open outfit

Serena Williams has a new eye-catching outfit to feature in her French Open clashes after her controversial “Catwoman” suit worn in the 2018 edition. Her husband’s reaction says it all. Former number one’s husband, Alexis Ohanian, commented with a short and suggestive “Damn” on Serena’s Instagram post which featured her new outfit.

Nike brought Louis Vuitton designer Virgil Abloh to help Serena design her outfit for this year’s Roland Garros. The new playing kit consists of a black-and-white skirt alongside a matching top. Also, the costume features a cape-jacket, which will probably be taken off when she enters the court, that helps resemble the silhouette of a super-hero.

The whole outfit seems to represent Serena as the words “Mother”, “Champion”, “Queen” and “Goddess” – written in French -, are printed on the jacket. Williams’ distinctive fashion taste provoked a wave of controversies at the 2018 Roland Garros when she wore a “Catwoman” suit.

“I think we sometimes went too far. The combination of Serena this year, for example, it will no longer be accepted. You have to respect the game and the place”. , said Bernard Giudicelli, the president of the French Tennis Federation, after the ending of the 2018 RG edition.

Serena explained that her last year’s outfit is meant to bring confidence to women passing through different situations: “It feels like this suit represents all the women that have been through a lot mentally, physically, with their body to come back and have confidence and to believe in themselves.

I definitely feel like it is an opportunity for me to inspire a whole different group of amazing women and kids. It just kind of expands that, and I really, really embrace it”. Williams even admitted that she feels like a super-hero when wearing this kind of suits: “I’m always living in a fantasy world.

I always wanted to be a superhero and it’s kind of my way of being a superhero”. The “Catwoman” suit only brought the American to the 1/16 finals of the French Open. It remains to be seen how much will the new uniform help Serena fight through this year’s edition.
