Three cities remain in contention to host the year ending WTA Tour Championships starting from 2014. The cities in contention are Monterrey, México; Singapore; and Tianjin, China. WTA officials will visit the ctities in the coming weeks before making a final decision in April.
WTA Chairman and CEO Stacey Allaster commented, "The WTA Championships provide cities around the world a stage on which their cities can be showcased. I am very pleased with the amount of international interest the Championships' bidding process has received.
I look forward to meeting with each finalist city and having the opportunity to review, in-person, the details of each bid." The cities that were voted out of contention in the latest round were Kazan, Russia, and México City, México.
