Gabriela Dabrowski—doubles specialist and first Canadian woman to have ever won a senior Grand Slam title—will team up with Jelena Ostapenko for the 2020 season, according to what John Horn—producer with ESPN and the WTA—has reported.
The two already have experience as a pair: a short cooperation in 2018 led them to win the Doha title against Andreja Klepac and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. Dabrowski, former World Doubles No. 7 (March 2018), has won the 2017 French Open mixed doubles with Rohan Bopanna and was crowned 2018 mixed doubles champion of the Australian Open along with Mate Pavic.
She has recently put an end to her close to three-year long partnership with China’s Xu Yifan, with whom she has reached the Wimbledon ladies’ final in 2019. Ostapenko, 2017 French Open singles champion, is the first Latvian player to have ever won a Grand Slam. Former World Doubles No. 22 (October 2019), she is a two-time Grand Slam ladies doubles quarterfinalist.
