Japan's Ayumi Morita is through to the quarter finals of the PTT Pattaya Open in Thailand after winning two matches on Thursday due to rain interruptions earlier in the week. After beating top seed Ana Ivanovic in the monring, Morita was back on court hours later to beat veteran countrywoman Kimiko Date-Krumm 46 64 61.
She will now meet Russian Nina Bratchikova, who advanced moved on when no..6 seed Daniela Hantuchova, retired due to dizziness during their second round match. Eighth seeded Heather Watson also lost to qualifier Anastasija Sevastova, 76(4) 46 62.
Russian Maria Kirilenko did survive though as she beat local wildcard Luksika Kumkhum. 57 62 62 victory. Kirilenko commented, "As long as I'm winning, I feel good. The match was tough and the girl was playing good, especially in the first set, but still I was able to fight and come through and win the match." She will play fellow Russian Elena Vesnina next for a spot in the semi fnals
