One day after announcing that she was deleting her Facebook and Twitter account, 22 year old Canadian Rebecca Marion has said that she is stepping away frm the sport - for the second time in less than a year and this time maybe for good.
Marino commented, "I have decided to step away from tennis. This was not an easy decision, but there are a number of factors that have led me to this. Factors that are part of our society and that I am more than open to discuss, which I plan to do moving forward, because I know it’s part of my growth process.”ake a seven month break last February.
She returned seven months later but has struggled to regain her former winning touch. Marino lost in the qualifying event in Memphis over the weekend and in an interview to the New York Times last week, she said that the nasty messages on Twitter that fans sent her were one of the reasons she tok a break from the sport last year.
