Former Wimbledon semi-finalist Mirjana Lucic-Baroni was among 12 women who booked their spot in the main draw of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after winning their second and final round qualifying matches. Lucic, the 1999 Wimbledon semi-finalist, defeated Swiss Stefanie Voegele in three sets to advance to the 96 player main draw.
Others advancing to the main draw include fromer French Open quarter finalist Sesil Karantancheva, American youngsters Grace MIn, Mallorry Burdette, also of the United States, and last week's finalist in Brazil Olga Puhckova.
