The 45th edition of the World TeamTennis will take place between July 12 - August 1, 2020, in what promises to be the most exciting three weeks in the history of the prestigious event. Orlando Storm and Vegas Rollers joined the action in 2019, opening doors for more players to experience the unique magic of the WTT and the crowd to see some of their favorite competitors.

Using the incomparable multi-colored court, WTT was the first professional sports league that featured men and women in the same team, all under the guidance of the WTA trailblazer Billie Jean King. Andre Agassi, Kevin Anderson, Tracy Austin, Victoria Azarenka, Boris Becker, James Blake, Bjorn Borg, Bob and Mike Bryan, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Pete Sampras, Andy Roddick have all took part at this competition and we should get some big names in 2020 as well.

The WTT Playoff returns to Orleans Arena at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on July 31 and August 1, gathering four best teams that would fight for the prestigious title! Ahead of the new edition, the organizers have increased the prize money to a tremendous $5 million, with the added $1 million awarded in WTT Playoffs compensation, including a $500,000 bonus to the team that wins the King Trophy.

Besides that, two new franchises will join the WTT family in the upcoming months, bringing the total number of squads to ten and preparing to host the strongest possible field of players from both the ATP and WTA circuits.

Also, the World TeamTennis is launching a new free agency player recruitment pattern, allowing teams to sign players from December 2 and have more freedom in arranging their roosters, eliminating the famous WTT draft that was usually starting in March.

By March 17, squads will gather players on a four-year deal, with the opportunity to add franchise players any time they want. Before that, the leading stars will meet at the "WTT Celebrity All-Star Match" on March 1, 2020, at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, home of the San Diego Aviators in Carlsbad, California.

Maria Sharapova, Sam Querrey, Taylor Fritz, Bob and Mike Bryan, CoCo Vandeweghe, Madison Keys, Ryan Harrison and Taylor Townsend will join the exhibition clash that should serve as the best introduction for the last signings for 2020 World TeamTennis squads in the next two weeks.

"Playing in San Diego for the Aviators is something that I make sure is on my calendar every summer, and when I was asked to participate in the 2020 WTT Celebrity All-Star Match in San Diego, it was a no brainer for me," CoCo Vandeweghe said.

"The March 1 match should be awesome for the players and the fans. Team tennis is always the most fun and exciting. I love the format and the excitement that every point count is something that we don't get on the tour, so I love every opportunity to play WTT.

It's always a major plus to be able to sleep in my own bed as well in San Diego." "Our WTT Celebrity All-Star Match, featuring many of the best Americans in tennis and popular WTT stars, will extend our positive momentum from the 2019 season into what will be an even bigger year for WTT in 2020," WTT CEO Carlos Silva said.

"The commitments we've received from many of WTT's stars to participate in the WTT Celebrity All-Star Match make it evident that our players love our team tennis format."
