Fifteen years ago Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal played their first final, at the Miami Open 2005. At that time the tournament was called NASDAQ-100 Open: Roger and Rafa competed for the first time in Miami in the third round of 2004, when Nadal won in two sets.
The 2005 final was a very exciting event. Federer won in five super-sets with the final score of 2–6, 6 (4) –7, 7–6 (5), 6–3, 6–1, in 3 hours and 43 minutes of play. Federer won his first title in Miami; that was Fedal's dawn, the biggest and most celebrated rivalry in modern tennis.
A memory to be shared in these days suspended in time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
