On a day full of performances, in Adelaide, the great protagonists of ATP and WTA Tours such as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka are finally back on the court, with the crowd that filled the stands of the stadium.
The main event of the day could only be the challenge between world number one Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner. Things did not go at all as expected with the number one in the world, who, a few minutes before the performance, announced his retirement due to blisters in his hand that forced him not to appear in front of the 4000 spectators.
In place of him Filip Krajinovic played who performed well and won the first set with the result of 6-3. At this point comes yet another surprise of this day with Djokovic who returns to the field and seems to have forgotten the problem with his blisters, plays without problems and wins his set with the result of 6-3.
At the end of the match, certainly very anomalous for Sinner, forced to face (in an exhibition) two opponents in a few minutes, Djokovic then clarified that he did not want to risk because the ATP Cup and the Australian Open were imminent, but at the same time he did not want to disappoint the audience and after working with his physiotherapist he decided to come back to the court.
