Rafael Nadal's race towards the record Slam, which to date he shares with Roger Federer (20 'Majors) continues inexorably at Roland Garros 2021. The Spanish champion achieved victory number 103 in Paris and conquered for the sixteenth time the 4h round of the Parisian Slam.
Nadal had won the last nineteen matches played against left-handed players; Cameron Norrie failed to stop the series and he lost with the final score of 6-3, 6-3, 6-3. The Majorcan showed some uncertainty in the opening bars of the game, but he nevertheless found a way not to go into trouble in the service shifts.
The spark was struck in the sixth game, when he got three consecutive break points and took advantage of the comfortable forehand missed by the British to take the lead 4-2. The subsequent games played by Nadal in the service did not create too many worries and a first sound winner ended the set at 6-3.
Nadal does not stop and will challenge the young Italian talent Jannik Sinner in the next round.
