American tennis sensation Coco Gauff has added her voice to the outrage across the United States over the death of an unarmed black man in Minneapolis. Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was charged on Friday with murder in the death of 46-year-old George Floyd after cellphone footage of the white officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck prompted a wave of protests.

Sixteen-year-old African-American Gauff posted a video on her social media account, joining several other athletes including basketball stars LeBron James and Lisa Leslie, who have spoken out following Floyd’s death.

Gauff has become one of the biggest names in tennis after her results over the past 12 months vaulted her into the Top 100 of the world rankings. She is tipped by many to be a big star in the coming years.
