ATP Madrid 2022: Rafael Nadal's MOVING welcome in Madrid

Rafael Nadal is back on the court, obviously with a win. The Majorcan tennis player took the field for the second round against Miomir Kecmanovic who scored his first match in the Spanish tournament. The twenty-one-time Grand Slam winner was forced to stop after losing to Taylor Fritz in Indian Wells last March due to a serious rib injury.

The Majorcan in fact had to skip the first two tournaments on red in Monte Carlo and Barcelona, where he is the absolute king having won them 10 and 11 times respectively. The draw had not been kind to Nadal. Called to return against an opponent with twenty-three wins this season, returning among other things from a zero match next to the column of unforced errors, on the ground presumably less congenial to his characteristics.

On the Caja Magica the very Spanish champion still starts from a victory. He walks in the first set and sobs in the second: thanks to the Serbian tennis player, who recovers a break from a disadvantage on two occasions and who only gives in to the jeu decisif.

Nadal seals the win at 6-1 7-6 (4) and for the ninth time this season reaches at least the round of 16 in the '1000' at home. The winner of the match between David Goffin and Botis Van de Zandschlup awaits him. Here is the exciting video of the Manacor bull's entry into the court on the central acclaimed from a completely packed stadium:
