Roger Federer's victory at the 2009 Roland Garros will forever remain one of the most important points in the history of tennis. Although Rafael Nadal was the favorite for the final victory, the Spaniard was surprisingly defeated by Robin Soderling in the fourth round.
Federer faced Soderling in the final, winning in straight sets 6-1, 7-6(1), 6-4. Thanks to that victory, Roger crowned the much-dreamed of Career Grand Slam, he got and his first and only Roland Garros title and he equaled Pete Sampras' record of 14 Slam, a record number at that time.
This is one of the memories of past days as the COVID-19 pandemic has led to the season's suspension over time. The tournament has been postponed twice this year on account of the ongoing pandemic problem and tennis' season's reshuffling.
