A few hours after returning to a tennis court, Roger Federer wanted to talk to fans by posting videos and photos of his departure for Doha. The tennis player was no longer used to this life as an athlete and wanted to convey his feelings to everyone.
Here is his message, in a video before leaving for Doha: "Here we are ready for take-off, it is just a short distance away. It's a strange feeling, I haven't been to a tournament in over a year. Thank you for waiting for me and for your support, see you soon, take care of yourself!" Many expected his return to the Australian Open, but Federer decided to avoid a tournament with a lot of pressure and decided to restart from the Doha tournament.
In case of positive feelings Federer will also play the ATP tournament in Dubai, scheduled for the following week. The program for this season is unknown but Federer has already announced that he will give up the Masters 1000 in Miami (this will make him lose 1000 points in the ATP ranking) and his goals for this season are above all the Wimbledon tournament and the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.
