Canadian tennis player Vasek Pospisil was seen energising himself in an unusual way - by sipping maple syrup during the final of the ATP event, the Open Sud de France, in Montpellier. Pospisil was playing the Frenchman Gael Monfils on Sunday in the final of the ATP Open Sud de France and lost to the Frenchman in straight sets.
During one of the changeovers, the Canadian Pospisil was spotted sipping maple syrup and the video quickly began circulating on social media. Pospisil responded to fans about his syrup antics, saying: ‘I mean if this doesn’t scream Canadian pride I dunno what does.’
Has a tennis player ever been endorsed by a Canadian Maple Syrup manufacturer? 🤔
Maybe @VasekPospisil should be the first? 🇨🇦#OSDF20 pic.twitter.com/dIccmOwM0w — Tennis TV (@TennisTV) February 9, 2020
