Emma Raducanu qualified for the second round of the Mutua Madrid Open 2022, after a two-sided, two-set victory against Tereza Martincova. First set suffered 7-6 (3) by the young British star, who then wins the second set 6-0.

Naomi Osaka's adventure at the WTA in Madrid also starts well: the Japanese in the final part of the day gets rid of Anastasia Potapova with a clear 6-3 6-1, qualifying round two, where she will face Sorribes Tormo.

Petra Kvitova's thud does not make too much noise, in her fourth consecutive defeat this season. All relatively easy for Jil Teichmann who breaks the balance at the foot of the tie break in the opening fraction and who spreads in the second.
