Bad episode occurred today in the match valid for the second round of women's Roland Garros 2022 between the Russian tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova and the Romanian Irina Begu. At the end of a game, Begu went angrily towards her bench and nervously threw her racket, which, bouncing on the ground, hit (obviously mistakenly) a poor child.
A situation in some ways similar to the one that saw world number one Novak Djokovic as the protagonist at the US Open 2020. The Balkan champion hit the line judge, erroneously, with a ball and was immediately disqualified from the tournament in addition to receiving a fine.
Different slam and different treatment instead for Begu who got away with a simple warning and even managed to bring home the victory. A success certainly full of controversy. A very bad episode, in a Slam vith some angry moments.
