Bianca Andreescu was injured during the 4th round match at the Miami Open 2023, against Ekaterina Alexandrova, having to leave the court in a wheelchair and in tears. On the score of 2-0, she suffered a serious injury that froze Hard Rock Stadium.
The 22-year-old Canadian tennis player, winner of the US Open in 2019, returned from the right at 40-15 for her opponent, exchanged a couple of times and then as the ball returned to her, she suddenly landed on the court.
Coirt microphones captured the screams of the girl, who grabbed her left ankle with both hands. "I've never felt this kind of pain before," screamed the former world No. 4 tennis player, as she writhed on the ground, and the chair umpire and Alexandrova approached her to make sure of her condition.
The ankle injury could be a simple sprain, but also a fracture or ligament involvement. After initial treatment on the court, the Canadian was forced to leave the Miami Grandstand in a wheelchair, but not before the her opponent embraced her.
Mortifying scenes in Miami as Bianca Andreescu falls and hurts herself.
This audio is heartbreaking to listen to.
“I’ve never felt this kind of pain before”.
Bianca does not deserve this again.

The other matches of the day 6
Aryna Sabalenka wins without problems and she ends with the result of 6-3 6-2 against the former Roland Garros champion Barbora Krejcikova, reaching the quarterfinals of the Miami Open 2023.
For her now the challenge against Sorana Cirstea. The surprise run of the 26-year-old American Christopher Eubanks continues at the Miami Open 2023. Beaten Barrere in two sets with consequent access to the Round of 16 with entry into the Top 100.
Another big surprise with the Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime, clamorously defeated by the Argentine Cerundolo, beaten in two sets and quite clearly with the result of 6- 2 7-5. A real hole opens up in the draw with Stefanos Tsitsipas who, despite his aches and pains, has the road open to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Besides Frances Tiafoe, great surprise with the elimination of the Polish Hubert Hurkacz, defeated in two sets by Mannarino. These two results also benefit Jannik Sinner, who, barring sensational twists, will return to the world Top-10 this week.
The only ones who could take away this joy from him are Karen Khachanov and Tommy Paul, engaged in the round of 16 against the top two seeds of the tournament.
Let's go back to Tiafoe. Lorenzo Sonego reached the Round of 16 after a rather surprise win over home idol and world No.
14 Tiafoe. Solid service performance and with great results and Sonego literally breaks down the young and strong opponent. Controlled first set with Sonego who leaves only three fifteen to his opponent on his serve, gets the break in the fourth game and closes the set 6-3.
An extraordinary service performance and a break in the first game allows the blue to close the practice, without ever trembling and without conceding break points to the opponent. He finishes 6-3 6-4 in just over an hour of play.
