At the Mutua Madrid Open 2021, four-time Slam champion Naomi Osaka qualified for the second round thanks to a victory in straights sets for 7-5 6-2 against her countrywoman Misaki Doi. The Japanese suffered the break in the first round of service, but she found the immediate against break in the next game.
