
Agnieszka RadwaĆska was born in Krakow on March 6, 1989. Considered one of the strongest Polish tennis players in history, she has broken several records over the years, becoming the first Polish woman to win a WTA title, the first Polish woman in the Open Era to reach the final in a Grand Slam tournament, at Wimbledon 2012, and the first Polish woman to win the WTA Finals, the year-end tournament, a feat achieved on November 1, 2015.
Within the same tournament she also became the first tennis player ever to win the Masters with just one win in the round robin, against number one seed Simona Halep.
In activity from 2005 to 2018, she won twenty WTA singles titles against twenty-seven finals played. In 2015 she added to her collection, together with her countryman Jerzy Janowicz, the 27th edition of the Hopman Cup by beating the United States of Serena Williams and John Isner in the final. For Poland it was the first success in the Australian competition.
She boasts the 2nd position as her best ranking, reached in July 2012 following the Wimbledon final. On November 14, 2018, at the age of 29, she announced her retirement from tennis.
With earnings of over 27 million dollars she is also the ninth female tennis player to have earned the most from the prize pools offered by the WTA.
