Jamie Murray

Jamie Murray, Andy Murray's older brother, is an excellent doubles player, and in this discipline he won both the US Open and the Australian Open in 2016, reaching the top of the ATP rankings for the first time on April 4, 2016. In mixed doubles he instead he won the US Open three times (2017, 2018, 2019) and the Wimbledon tournament twice (2007 and 2017).

Jamie was born in Dunblane on February 13, 1986. In 1996 Jamie and his younger brother Andy escaped the massacre of the Dunblane primary school they attended: a madman entered the building armed and killed 16 children and a teacher, while the two Murrays, terrified , barricaded themselves in the principal's office, thus managing to save themselves.

In 1998 he reached the final in the Junior Orange Bowl tournament in the under-12 category, but failed to win the title. At 13, he reached second place in the junior rankings and was selected to study at The Leys School where he was followed by national coaches.

His maternal grandfather, Roy Erskine, was a professional footballer who played in the Scottish Football League for Hibernian. In October 2010 he married Alejandra Murray.
